Portfolio Night...

Yesterday afternoon I was asked to fill in for Spencer to review some portfolios at IHAVEANIDEA's portfolio night. I agreed... I can't pass up an opportunity to look at work. You never know what's going to be put in front of you, so it's always a surprise. Sometimes good. Sometimes, less good.
Dan and I hopped in a cab and headed to Cambridge. About 20 minutes later after circling by 180 Lincoln st. three times (with no trendy restaurant in sight, or trendy ad kids) we came to the conclusion, we had to go to 180 Lincoln st. in Boston. That's pretty much a block or two from where we started. Well, after our detour we arrived fashionably late, but really that's on time at these things. We chowed down on some cheese and crackers and hydrated with some beverages.
Dan and I were both fill ins. I think it might have been obvious that we were no creative directors. Obvious as in, having ad legends sit down in front of you to look at your work... and then, ehem... having to craft your words in the right fashion to tell them you were reviewing books, not showing yours... without offending... ha. i think dan had a good time watching that unfold.
The night was good, I saw a few interesting things and one thing that I wished I had thought of.
