A misty morning jog...

The other day I purchased a nice sparkling new pair of running sneakers to jumpstart my training... a long overdue splurge. It hasn't worked as well as I had hoped. Unfortunately with all this running around (not in the literal sense) and traveling, I find little time for activity.

Last night I went for margaritas and 10lbs of guacamole with jim. The margaritas did me in, or perhaps it was the guac. Either way, I was still planning on burning it off in the morning.

The run started out dreary and rainy, packed sidewalks full of slow moving obstacles. I ran up 3rd ave to 58th street, then managed to make my way to central park. Something magical happened when I got to the park. I wanted to keep running. it's been a long while since this has happend... could it mean I'm creeping my way towards some level of cardiovascular shape? maybe it's just the new shoes. Either way, it felt great!

On a separate note- I went home for the weekend to see dad, kathy, donna, bill, the kids, the horses, Izzy, even lucked out and saw ryan for 5 minutes at a crew meet. Dad picked me up on friday night at the wassaic train station. Shortly after we got back from the train station, Dave arrived at the house. After introductions were made, we had a nice fast dinner, quick conversation and all fell asleep.

Saturday morning Dave and I headed to donna & bill's house for the next round of introductions. It was a fun day of riding horses and hanging around outside. I even put dave on asterix. I don't think he liked it all that much, but he was game for trying it. After all that, we drove down to new rochelle in the afternoon to catch a glimpse of ryan at his crew meet. That's really all it was... a glimpse through binoculars, a hug and a "see ya later".

Many miles were traveled over the weekend, but I'd say it was worth it. I had a great time.
